I love Mulan. What Chinese girl doesn't? But what exactly happened to Mulan, after she relinquished her position in the army and went home?

How exactly was she supposed to settle back into domestic life, after spending 12 years as a soldier? Could she actually find peace in her heart after going through a decade of endless battles?

This painting is what I imagine how she felt. Even in a peaceful garden she was still at war inside. You can take soldier out of the battlefield, you can't take the battle out of the soldier.
