"The Spirit of Peacock" is a famous folkdance in Chinese, and it's long been a favorite of mine. The dancer depicted in the painting is Lihua Tai, an award-winning dancer who has been deaf since the age of two. Despite all odd, she became one of the most celebrated dancer in China. 

This painting is a tribute to an amazing dancer, a beautiful dance, and the undaunted human spirit.
